With dozens of charter services and marinas, you’d be hard-pressed not to find something else fun to do that will get your blood pumping!

Paddle boarding, windsurfing, sailboarding, wakeboarding, canoeing, kayaking, Big Bear waterskiing, and Big Bear jet-skiing are all extremely popular on Big Bear Lake. You can even find gems like Pine Knot Parasailing and Action Flyboarding, which are two intense sports that allow you to explore Big Bear Lake by air! Flyboarding is a newer phenomenon that uses powerful streams of water to propel you upwards like a jetpack, but with attachments on your hands and feet like the superhero Iron Man!

Big Bear Lake is the perfect location to pick up the amazing sport of stand-up paddleboarding, also referred to as SUP. This is a fun and easy watersport to get into. Big Bear visitors can rent the oversized paddleboard and oar and learn to stand up and glide in no time. Once you get the basics down, you can see the amazing sights of Big Bear Lake from a whole new and exciting viewpoint. Since the paddleboards are easy to transport and rent at Big Bear Lake, you can launch from just about anywhere and reach the scenic views in the area in no time at all. We suggest looking into renting your SUP equipment at Getboards Kayak and Paddleboard Rentals, Holloway’s Marina, or Captain John’s at Fawn Harbor Marina.

Another amazing Big Bear Lake Water Sport is kayaking. There is simply no better way to get some exercise and explore Big Bear Lake than by kayak. Kayaking is by far one of the most popular summer activities on Big Bear Lake, and you will see many others getting out on the water via kayak. There are guided kayak tours that are offered throughout the day that provide amazing insight and views of the lake. If you are interested in booking a guided kayak tour, check out the Big Bear Discovery Center, or even strike out on your own and drop in from almost any marina location on the lake.

One of our favorite Big Bear Lake watersports is jet skiing. There are few things you can do on the lake that are more fun that zipping across the water on the back of a jet ski. Also, much like the kayaking option, there are many companies that offer tours of Big Bear Lake from the back of a jet ski. Visitors can rent their equipment and tours at the marina and set out and have a blast. The only hang up with this amazing watersport is that you have to be at least 25 years old and have a driver’s license to rent them, so kiddos are not able to drive them without adults accompanying them. This is a fun-filled adrenaline ride that is a must try when you are visiting Big Bear Lake. Check out any of the marinas and vendors to experience this amazing Big Bear Lake watersport.

On the lake, there are a number of vendors that will provide lessons, equipment rentals, and charter services. We’ve already mentioned Action Flyboarding and Pine Knot Parasailing, but there are also Big Bear Watersports School, Big Bear Boating, Holloway’s Marina, Designated Wakesports, North Shore Landing, Big Bear Marina, Captain John’s Marina, and Pleasure Point Marina. When you visit Big Bear Lake, you can travel a few minutes in any direction and find what you need!
