Location and Amenities You’ll Love
Our vacation rentals in Big Bear take full advantage of the beautiful location. Comfy, cozy cabins in a woodland setting, some with views of beautiful Big Bear Lake. These cabins may look rustic and have a retro camp cabin look, but the interiors are fully upgraded and can come with all the modern amenities you may want (including Wi-Fi, flat screens and coffee makers). Our Big Bear lake house rentals come with different amenities, allowing you to select the ones you want, from basic camping cabins to more modern, comfy cabins. You select the cabin based on the location you want (lake view or not?) and the amenities you want (Wi-Fi or not?) for your Big Bear lake trips. Many have large decks or cute front porches with great views overlooking the lake too.
If you feel like company or need to pick up a last minute goofy gift for your sweetie, our cabins are within walking distance to Big Bear Village. Browsing through the shops in The Village is a pleasant way to spend a few hours. And, there are several souvenir gift shops in the village where you can pick up a fun, “Big Bear” gift. Need some pastries for breakfast? Or maybe a couple of Valentine cupcakes? Pick up a delicious selection at Sister My Sister Bake Shop. And if you’re looking for chocolates and sweet treats, try La Fiesta Candy Shop, Village Nut House, Village Sweet Shoppe or North Pole Fudge.
The Village may be small, but there are still plenty of choices for a great Valentine’s Day dinner. Here are just a few restaurants to choose from. Satisfy your craving for Indian and Nepalese food at The Himalayan, or fill up on BBQ and pub fare at The Boneyard Bar & Grill. Feel like steak and seafood? Head to Stillwell’s or Stillwell’s Lounge. Not sure what you feel like eating? Then Santana & Mavericks is the spot for you. Their menu features American, Mexican, Italian, French and Asian items. There’s something for everyone here. And if the two of you don’t want company, order everything to go, take it back to your cabin, and have a quiet, romantic dinner in front of the roaring fire.
Things to Do on Valentine’s Day
Since you’re here in Big Bear, the two of you must love the outdoors. So, get outside! The two of you can head to one of the area resorts, or make your own trail. Get away from the noise and people and escape out into the quiet, snowy wilderness in Big Bear Lake’s National Forest. You can book a guided snowshoeing or cross-country ski tour, or just explore on your own. Or build a snowman with your sweetie in front of your cabin.
If you love the thrill of downhill skiing and snowboarding, hit the slopes at Snow Summit or Bear Mountain. Both resorts have a wide variety of terrain and features like rails, funboxes and jumps, although Bear Mountain seems to have more snowboarders and a younger vibe. They both have a variety of runs for all different skill levels too. And your day of skiing fun doesn’t have to end when the sun sets because Snow Summit offers night skiing! Swooshing downhill, under the stars is something you have to try at least once while you’re here. And Snow Play and Magic Mountain both offer exciting tubing action for all day and night fun. That’s right – when the sun sets, it’s time for glow tubing!
Of course, you can spend your Big Bear Lake vacations in your vacation cabin, spending quality time with your loved one. A good book, maybe a bottle of wine or two, and a beautiful view from the deck is a great start on a lovely, quiet Valentine’s Day holiday. Rent one of our cabins with a fireplace and settle down in front of the fire for the day and into the evening. Bring along plenty of chocolate, graham crackers and marshmallows, because s’mores are always fun.
