Music in the Mountains is a highly anticipated annual summer event in Big Bear that’s hosted on select evenings throughout the months of July and August. While it’s an opportunity for attendees to take a seat under the open sky and enjoy stunning performances, it’s also an event that works towards a greater cause. If you choose to participate in Music in the Mountains, you’ll find concerts are hosted at the Big Bear Discovery Center Amphitheatre. As you get settled into your seat 7,000 feet above Southern California, you can feel great knowing that proceeds from this event go towards supporting the efforts over at the Southern California Mountains Foundation. This important organization helps local recreation programs, conservation efforts, and educational initiatives thrive in the area. In years past, some of the programs that have benefited from the proceeds earned at Music in the Mountains have included the Urban Conservation Corps of the Inland Empire, Adopt-A-Trail, Fire Lookout Hosts, Off-Highway Vehicle, the Big Bear Discovery Center, and the National Children’s Forest. The dual goal of enjoying a performance while supporting a great cause sees Music in the Mountains welcoming audiences to the area in droves this time of year. An Impressive Performance Lineup to Look Forward to Enjoying
As it has in years past, Music in the Mountains is once again shaping up to be an impressive season of performances. The event will celebrate its 17th season in 2024 and concert goers will be thrilled with the shows coming to town. On July 6, Prince Again, a tribute to the artist Prince will take to the stage and treat audiences to some bold stylings worth singing along to. Bohemian Queen will be showcased on July 20, while DSB, the World’s Greatest Journey Tribute, will be performing on August 3rd. The Long Run, which pays tribute to The Eagles, will be entertaining audiences on August 17, while the Petty Party, a tribute to Tom Petty, will take to the stage on August 31. Each of these concerts includes a tribute opening act featuring artists like Pat Benatar, Rod Stewart, Heart n Butterfly, Stevie Ray, and Fleetwood Mac.
