Haunted Bear Valley Farms

Fall is one of our favorite times of the year! Cooling temperatures, longer nights, bright fall foliage, and the start of the holidays—especially Halloween! The one time of year we can binge out on candy and scary horror flicks without getting those looks. And if you and your kids love Halloween too, just because you’re in Big Bear doesn’t mean you all can’t have a scary good time.

Bear Valley Farms Year-Round

Bear Valley Farms is a 30-acre, working farm that offers hay rides, horse rides and horse riding lessons for singles and groups, and for all experience levels too. Whether you’re a beginner who has never touched a horse, let alone sat on one, to intermediate and advanced lessons that get you started on your way to bigger things. They offer therapeutic riding lessons for special needs riders too. Horse camps and trail riding experiences are perfect for those casual riders who want a little more of the range experience, for a full day or half day. There’s an event center on site too, perfect for weddings and other celebrations. And there’s a dance floor for those country hoe-downs.

Halloween at Haunted Bear Valley Farms

Halloween at Haunted Bear Valley is focused on scaring the corn out of you. The evening haunted hay rides can be a little intense for young kids, but their earlier Saturday events include a petting zoo, horse roping, a bounce house, Jenga, cornhole, horseshoes and more.

Start out on foot through the Haunted Farm House, then take a ride (if you dare) on the vintage hay sleigh. A vintage tractor pulls the hay-filled sleigh along creepy, haunted trails winding through hay fields, around hay stacks and abandoned farm equipment, with plenty of creepy scarecrows and clowns, decaying zombies, skeletons, goblins, ghosts and ghouls along the way. Your haunted sleigh ride ends with a stop at the dark, deserted Haunted Barn. Don’t forget to try your luck in the haunted corn maze. The Haunted Hayride runs about every 45 minutes, and you can stay warm while you wait with complementary drinks around the fire pits.
