Once up a time, there was a little comedy festival. For several nights in November, comedy was rearing its hilarious and sometimes ugly head in Big Bear Lake. Everyone was laughing and a great time was had by all. This little festival had made it for three years, getting better each year, then along came this crazy, ugly pandemic and the whole world shut down. There hasn’t been much to laugh about and there hasn’t been a comedy festival in Big Bear for a couple of years now. The mountains and forests are silent, and everyone is waiting for the laughter to come again. Hopefully, this is the year!
If Comedy Makes a Come Back
What a bear does in the woods…stays in the woods. There. The festival’s tagline should get you started. This is a fun, raunchy festival, with comics you’ve seen on Comedy Central, Conan and Kimmel, Last Comic Standing, Comics Unleashed, and more. If you love live comedy, and if you love to laugh out loud, uncontrollably, then the Big Bear Comedy Festival is just what you need.
Past local venues have included The Cave, Nottingham’s, Stillwell’s, The Bone Yard Bar & Grill, and Big Bear Brewing Co. These are all your favorite spots anyway, now they’re even better ‘cause there’s live comedy going on.

Without knowing if there will be a festival this year or not, here’s the best thing we can pass on to all of you comedy lovers out there. Check the Big Bear Comedy Festival’s Facebook page and their webpage constantly. If we get lucky this year, and things get sort of back to normal, you can get your tickets online at the festival’s website or at local establishments (like Village Music). That’s all we know right now, except this is really one very funny festival. If it gets going again, it’ll be great again.
