Music in the Mountains 2018 | Big Bear Cabins

How may we help you?

Music in the Mountains

In Big Bear, from June through September, the hills really are alive with the sound of music! The Music in the Mountains Concert Series has been filling the area with music for over 15 years here in Big Bear. And even better than listening to all that good music with the San Bernardino Mountains as a beautiful backdrop, is that the concert series proceeds go towards a great cause that is near and dear to all of our hearts – conserving this beautiful area for future generations.

Music in the Mountains & the Southern California Mountains Foundation

Proceeds from Music in the Mountains benefit the Southern California Mountains Foundation. The Southern California Mountains Foundation is a nonprofit organization focused on the “health, stewardship and sustainability of our Southern California mountains and “urban” forests.” Their conservation efforts and educational programs include the Big Bear Discovery Center, National Children’s Forest, The Urban Conservation Corps of the Inland Empire, Fire Lookout Hosts, Off-Highway Vehicle, and Adopt-a-Trail. Attending this lively concert series is an easy, fun way to support local conservation efforts.

Music in the Mountains Details

Big Bear Live Music brings together the best tribute bands in the country. And there’s usually a wide variety of music to choose from, from Garth Brooks to Led Zeppelin. This year’s concerts include tributes to Linda Ronstadt, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, John Denver, the Eagles, and Journey.

Concerts start at 6 pm and are held at the lovely Big Bear Discovery Center Amphitheater. You can purchase single-day passes or seasonal passes on the Southern California Mountains Foundation’s website here. All seats are general admission, first come, first served. There is limited on-site paid parking, or you can park for free at Meadows Edge and then take the free shuttle to and from the Discovery Center from 5 pm until 10 pm.

Local food trucks will be on-site, and there will be beer, wine, and cocktail bars set up. Oh, and does your furry four-legged friend love music too? Great! Leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome to enjoy the music too.
