Skypark at Santa’s Village

When vacationing to Big Bear, you are probably looking forward to many of the outdoor activities that await you. Big Bear is settled in the San Bernardino Mountains and features an abundance of outdoor fun. One of closest attractions to your vacation rental will be Skypark at Santa’s Village. This outdoor park is just a short drive away and features some incredible fun to have.

Renewed Outdoor Attractions

Skypark has been operating since 1955 but what you will see is all completely new. Santa’s Village was the first franchised theme park in the country and actually opened a few weeks before Disneyland. Unfortunately, one of the big fires in the area in 2003 (known locally as the “Old Fire”) burnt much of the attraction down. Residents of the area knew how special this attraction was and made sure to bring it all back again. Now, all of the exciting Skypark activities can be found at Santa’s Village, where it is transformed into an incredible winter wonderland. And with this last remaking, the new owners had a vision that extended far beyond that of previous owners. They envisioned year-round fun and educational programs, promoting conservation and an active lifestyle, all with Santa as the main attraction.

Winter Fun for All

At Skypark at Santa’s Village, you can find an exciting selection of holiday activities that are perfect for the whole family. Skate around with Santa at the Silver Bells Arena, an outdoor frozen pond in the village. Live entertainment will be on hand including Wacko the magician, live storytelling, the Skypark Puppet Theatre, and more. Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be all over the park featuring in activities such as Breakfast with Santa, cookie decorating, Crafting with the Elves, and Write Your Own Santa Letters. Get around the park on the Northwoods Express Train Ride. Older children will love the interactive forest exploration at night, ice cave exploring, mining for gold, and more. The park continues to add new and improved attractions every year so make sure to visit again in the future and see what has changed!
