Around the world, there are all types of Big Bear New Year’s Eve celebrations, but none have quite the spectacle of the New Year’s Eve Torchlight Parade in Big Bear Lake.
Each year, Snow Summit hosts an impressive light display made possible purely by the skills and talents of skiers and snowboarders. Winding down the challenging Miracle Mile trail run on Snow Summit, over one hundred snowboarders and skiers carry torches to form a breathtaking, almost magical path of light that can be seen from quite a distance—a perfect, unique, and very Big Bear way to ring in the new year.
The Torchlight Parade begins at 6:00 pm and lasts until 7:30 pm approximately, during which time you and your loved ones can catch a glimpse of this fantastic array as it radiates from the mountainside and reflects out over the shimmering waters of Big Bear Lake itself.
