Fun Things to Do in Big Bear Over the Holidays
The Big Bear Comedy Festival will get you into a cheerful spirit on November 4th and November 5th, just in time for the holiday season.
If you’re looking to kick off the season with a show, the Big Bear Lake Performing Arts Center will be hosting the classic biblical musical Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat from November 18th through December 4th.
On November 25th through November 27th, Big Bear’s Mountain Christmas Boutique, which features over sixty vendors showcasing handmade artisan wares, fills the town with bustling energy and holiday cheer.
November 25th is also when Santa makes his grand entrance at Christmas Tree Corner and helps the town light up its big, beautiful Christmas tree! Then, on November 27th, Santa and Mrs. Claus greet the town on Christmas Tree Corner once again, meeting with kids and kids-at-heart from 10:00am until 4:00pm to spread the Christmas cheer.
You can also see Dave Brock’s The Doors Experience at the local hotspot concert venue known as The Cave on November 26th.
On December 10th, riders from all over the state come to participate in the California State Fat Bike Championships XC and DH Races on tires of 3.7 or wider. This is also the day that you can meet at the Discovery Center between 8:00am and 8:30am to volunteer to help the U.S. Forestry Service count the number of bald eagles that are staying for the winter in the San Bernardino National Forest.
December 31st is when naturalists host guided snowshoe tours through the San Bernardino National Forest; you can spend the last day of the year in the tranquility and splendor of a wintery white, snowy forest.
