Each year, Santa makes his annual stop in Big Bear on the day after Thanksgiving, filling the town’s visitors and residents alike with cheer in preparation for the upcoming Big Bear Christmas season. He and Mrs. Claus also help light up the town of Big Bear with sparkling, dazzling lights, with the big finish coming with the lighting of the enormous Christmas tree in the center of town!
Mr. and Mrs. Claus arrive at the Village area of Big Bear Lake by sleigh at approximately 6:00 pm, though local residents put on festivities for their arrival beginning at 5:00 pm. Santa also makes frequent stops in town leading up to Christmas, stopping by the Christmas tree lot on weekends from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm until December 24th.
After the ceremony, the Village area shops and restaurants remain open, making it the perfect night to stroll down the quiet alpine streets, eat a delicious and hearty meal with loved ones, and peruse the charming local boutiques for an early start to your Christmas shopping.
